Research links religious environments and porn-viewing among youth in the United States. www.psypost.org/2020/05/a-conservative-religious-environment-strongly-increases-the-chances-of-adolescent-viewing-56919#“Perhaps, we, especially the religious leaders, should rethink the traditional approach we have been taking for granted when dealing with sex-related topics. Instead of promoting the prohibitive and avoidant attitude towards sex which may only stimulate more rebellious and risk-taking behaviors among the youth, we may want to have more open dialogs with the young congregants to help them establish a more open-minded, objective perspective on the role and purpose of sex,” Nie said. How do you think we can establish a more open-minded, objective perspective on the role and purpose of sex?

Dr Finlayson-Fife says a lot of good things about accepting sexuality as part of who each person is and coming to understand one's own sexuality.
Sexuality should be taught from a position of understanding of oneself and management in congruence with values, not from a mindset of ignorance and fear. This extends to viewing of erotic material.

Porn viewing for my wife and I was an educational tool we both found in our teems. We both feel that porn has made us the better lovers and sexual partners. We don't have a problem with nudity and the expression of love. We aren't much into manufactured porn because the acting is so bad or the story line is a joke. But amateur porn or soft porn is a turn on.
