Hey everyone!
I'm new to this forum, I just happened to stumble upon it and am really grateful. I recently went through a divorce and am now back to being single. There were lots of issues with sexuality in our marriage, but at least the chance of having sex existed. Now that I'm single again I find it extremely hard to just go back and stifle those urges. Any bits of advice for anyone who has gone through something similar that can help me minimize them? I'm a guy with a pretty high sex drive, so I really don't want to fall into a sex spiral and have it ruin my life even more. TIA

Kb, I just wanted to welcome you to the forum and I hope you find some good advice. Tell us more about what you find sexually acceptable as a single member of the church?

Welcome. I second this. Tell us a bit about yourself and what you find acceptable or not.

Are there particular situations that you find yourself in that are harder than others?
What do you think about masturbation? Personally, I don’t think we can conclude that the prohibition against masturbation, which some church leaders include in the law of chastity, is doctrine. There have been some conference talks that have discussed what doctrine is and I don’t think it qualifies. It’s kind of an extreme version of the “prohibition” against drinking caffeinated soft drinks.

This string is starting to get dated, but I thought I would throw in my 2 cents worth. . . I would have a difficult time staying out of trouble if I were sigle again, so I would probably try to date women who were active in the church and trying to refrain from sex. It would make it a lot easier to stay true. If you go out with women who want sex, you will probably fall.
