What type of love do you have with your spouse? A psychologist, Robert Sternberg, developed a theory of love. He categorized it into 7 types with varying degrees of passion, intimacy, and commitment. Consummate love is the ideal because it includes all three elements. You can read more about each one here. trendingposts.net/trending-relationship-news/as-per-psychologists-there-are-7-types-of-love/?ia=331_6012&utm_source=SC&utm_medium=331&utm_campaign=6012 Another psychologist, John Alen Lee, had a theory of six different love styles. They are Eros, Ludus, Storge, Pragma, Mania and Agape. Agape is considered the "truest and purest" form of love. It states, "For Agape lovers, the happiness and contentment of their partner are above their own and they have the virtue of self-sacrificing for keeping the partner pleased." I found these interesting because often we focus on the romantic, sensual, passionate side of things. I suppose that is because that's what is often lacking in relationships. However, the ideal love is one encompassing all the best kinds of love.

Interesting. I've never thought of the different types of love. Makes sense though! Thanks for sharing!
